Sunday with a Soldier

Come enjoy a free expedition with our soldiers! They will be giving demonstrations and interpretations of various exhibits around the Lewis & Clark Visitors Center. Kids can dress up in look-alike uniforms. Great photo opportunities. The Living History Corps provides free demonstrations every second Sunday during the spring and summer months.

Christmas with the Birds

We will be making bird houses and tree decorations for birds again this year! This event will be free to the public, as will all the supplies needed for birdhouses.

Native American Artifact Show

The Missouri River Basin Lewis & Clark Visitor Center is hosting its annual Native American Artifact Show on Saturday, March 9, from 10 am to 4 pm. The show will feature authentic Native American artifacts from a number of private and public collections. Visitors will be able to see some of the finest examples of spear points, arrowheads, tools, and pottery in the Midwest. Kids can enjoy hands-on activities like pottery making. Don’t miss out on a special presentation at 1 pm by archaeologist Nolan Johnson, “Nebraska Archaeology: 10,000 BCE to Circa 1800 CE” This event FREE event is sponsored

****POSTPONED**** Due to the Missouri River flooding in the area and the closing of Highway 2at the Missouri River bridge-this event has been postponed to a later date. We will share and advertise the new date when it is decided upon. Come out and join us for a program given by our own Butch Bouvier, the creator of our four custom built Lewis & Clark boats in the basement at the center! There will also be demonstrations being given by our reenactors here on the grounds for Saturday with a Soldier! Please note that we are open and not affected by the surrounding flood waters. Community Story Time at the Lewis and Clark Center

We will be reading a picture book story told through the eyes of the baby boy on Sacagawea's back. Ages 2-6, families welcome. Free to attend. No registration required.
