The soldiers and engagees of the expedition will be giving live demonstrations and interpretations of various skills.   Kids can dress up in look-alike uniforms. Great photo opportunities.

Native American Artifact Show

Collectors will be display their private exhibits and collections of arrowheads, spear points, tools and pottery. At 1:00 there will be a special presentation by Joyzelle Gingway Godfrey "Lewis and Clark Meet the Sioux" Hands-On activities for children (and adults) will include pottery making, corn grinding and moccasin making. The Otoe-Missouria Native American tribes were living along the Missouri River in present day Nebraska City area when Lewis and Clark camped here in July 1804. This FREE program is part of a series of events sponsored by the Nebraska City Museum Association, www.nebraskacitymuseums.org and by a grant from Humanities Nebraska www.humanitiesnebraska.org

New Exhibit at the Lewis & Clark Center

A unique exhibit entitled:  "Reimagining America: The Maps of Lewis and Clark" is now on display at the Lewis & Clark Center in Nebraska City. It consists of 15 panels 7' tall and 3' wide which extend for 60 linear feet along the walls of the lower level of the Center. It is professionally done based on the research of experts commissioned by the Lewis & Clark Heritage Trail Foundation. This traveling exhibit will be on display in Nebraska City until June 30. This is the third of eleven sites where it can be viewed in 2021 and 2022. Its next stop is in Montana.

Come help us celebrate the birthdays of Lewis & Clark in August!  There will be snacks, drinks and cake provided. Meriwether Lewis was born on August 18, 1774. William Clark was born on August 1, 1770.
